Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of finding an attic piano and becoming enthralled by the sound it could produce. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. They encouraged her not to do music just for pleasure or for the sake of development but instead, she must pursue it. Thus, she began writing her own songs. Her inspirations include famous writer Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her love of Bjork's style. Her mother had told her the songs she composed could be used to not make her famous but instead to inspire people to see their own value and impact in this world, she started singing them in public. The piano was her first instrument at the age of six, and began making music when she was 9 years old. Her family didn't know until the age of 14. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. Aurora claims she loves creating music. She believes that music can help any person feel better.
